Richard has been busy with music and theater work for decades now. In the 1980's, he sang in clubs and restaurants throughout Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, and Albany counties with his trusty keyboard and guitar. Over the past 17 years, he has been very active acting in and directing theatrical productions in and around Columbia County. He served on the board of directors of the Ghent Playhouse (formerly Columbia Civic Players) for 15 years, including two years as president, until he was finally put out to pasture.

Favorite stage roles include Pontius Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, Harold Hill in The Music Man, Joe/Josephine in Sugar, Jack/Ernest in The Importance of Being Earnest, and Major General Stanley in The Pirates of Penzance. He has also spent the last 6 years performing with Too Live Nurse, traveling the country doing musical comedy for nurses!

"I was always intimidated by the concept of improv, until I tried it! I'm having way too much fun with this group. We all get along famously!"

A full time piano tuner/technician in Columbia County since 1978, Richard lives in Valatie, NY with his wife Debbie McDermott, and his two sons Griffin and Bailey.
